STEEL SPEED SHOOT

MBSC Style Speed Steel Competition is usually 4 stages of 2 or 3 strings each stage with scenarios of from 5 to 20 rounds each string. Stages vary month to month.

-Targets usually consist of a variety of static steel, from 1 to 10 targets set at a distance of 10 to 15 yrds.

-Scoring is calculated by adding raw time plus 2 seconds per miss and a 5 second procedural for shooting out of order. We take the best of 2 string times or sometimes the best 2 out of 3 string times for your total stage score.

-Shooters can choose from any 2 of 4 different categories. Rimfire pistol or rifle and centerfire pistol or pistol caliber carbine/rifle.

-Equipment: Each competitor will need eye and ear protection, sufficient reloading devices to complete the stage without stopping to reload magazines etc., and a strong side holster if competing in the centerfire pistol category.

-Fee is $20 for 1 category and an additional $5 for a second category.

OUR FIRST OF THE SEASON MBSC STEEL SHOOT WILL BE HELD, WE WERE RAINED OUT LAST MONTH. WEATHER PERMITTING ON SATURDAY MAY 10TH. WE WILL, AGAIN WEATHER PERMITTING, HOLD A SHOOT EACH 2ND SATURDAY OF THE MONTH THRU OCTOBER.

Weather permitting MBSC will host this months “Speed Steel Shoot” Saturday May 10th - Registration till 9:00 followed by a MANDATORY safety meeting. Shooting to starts about 9:15.

REGISTRATION & SCORECARD WILL BE PROVIDED We will be shooting 4 stages / 3 strings each. All stages will be fired in 3 strings of 10 shots each with 1 ten shot bonus round. Match total of 130 rounds. No reshoots.

Shooters can choose to compete in any 2 of the following 4 categories: 1) rimfire pistol 2) centerfire pistol 3) rimfire carbine 4) pcc - centerfire carbine The Entry fee is $20.00 for the 1st category and $5.00 for a 2nd category.

All categories will shoot steel targets from 10 to 15 yards

Stage scores will be calculated by taking raw time plus a 2 second penalty for each miss and a 5 second penalty for shooting out of order. Match score will be the total of shooters best 2 out of 3 scores from each stage combined. Lowest score wins in each category.

Carbines & Rimfire pistols will start each stage with gun loaded as directed and aimed down range at the ground under the first target.

Centerfire pistols will start in holster with hand on pistol.

Required equipment:

1) eye & ear protection

2) strong side holster for centerfire handguns

3) 130 rounds of ammo

4) three 10 round loading devices
